Start with the computer you already have
Evaluate existing hardware without assuming that every device can run every AI workflow.
Use the existing environment where it fits
Replacing a device or moving a workflow introduces costs beyond compute. Existing applications, files and permissions matter. Start by asking whether a supported local execution path can use that environment effectively.
Measure the task, not the slogan
Memory, operating system, model size and application requirements affect feasibility. A short demonstration does not establish sustained quality, thermal behaviour or recovery under interruptions. Scheduled work also needs a runtime that remains available for the required period.
Qualify the environment
Check the documented workflow and the installed product’s compatibility results. Use an appropriate managed or customer-controlled environment when the existing device is not suitable.
